The Geislede, the river that flows into the Leine at the edge of the park, plunges about seven meters down the sandstone in the spa park. Theodor Storm was inspired by this natural waterfall for the famous story "The Regentrude". The life-size wooden sculpture "Regentrude" by artist Christoph Haupt, to the left of the bridge over the Geislede, is one of a total of nine wooden sculptures that can be viewed on the Heiligenstadt Sculpture Trail.
