The manor house of the Düsterntal estate is also known today as Delligsen Castle; perhaps that sounds better? 😅 Since it's a therapy center, it's not open to the public.

The site of "Everstein Castle on the Castle Hill" was first explicitly mentioned in 1226. According to the findings, however, the Little Everstein was probably built around 1100 as the original ancestral seat of the Counts of Everstein, while the Great Everstein appears to have been added only around 1170. A documented mention of the castrum Everstein maius in 1265 shows that at that time, both the Great and Little Everstein hills were occupied by castles.
