Regarding Angie P's tip: I have to disagree, it doesn't matter. I experienced a night with a thunderstorm while hiking on the Elbe Höhenweg, lightning struck only about 30 m away. I ended up there because another "refuge" marked on the map didn't even exist. Otherwise, the paths with changing views of the Elbe are definitely worthwhile. The only thing I would do the entire Elbe Crest Trail next time is by bike and not on foot.

A really great hut. The midday sun heats directly because the hut is open on the side. There is space for 6 people, if necessary you can also sleep in it.
