The approximately 13 hectare reservoir "Glockengraben Teistungen" is 1 km east of Teistungen. It was completed in 1986 as a service water reservoir for agriculture. Its location in the former restricted area resulted in the settlement of a species-rich flora and fauna. After the border was opened, the idyll for rare animal and plant species was suddenly threatened by water sports enthusiasts and day trippers.
