The Carolinenteich in the Reiherbachtal is a Romanesque place. The pond can be completely circumnavigated and several benches invite you to take a break.

The port is the "heart and center of the city" - the baroque port with lock directly in the historic old town of Bad Karlshafen! In 2019, the historic harbor was reopened for shipping and can be navigated from the Weser via a new lock. The Carolinenteich was created in 1971. It had an historical precedent that lay in the hollow behind you. A little below (approx. 100 m to the east) the breached dam of this previous pond can still be seen.
