One of the only hills around the area. There are a couple of off road paths to go up. Suitable for a little altitude training

From the freely accessible wooden observation tower, a wide view opens up over the surrounding forests, in the middle of which protrudes like a landed UFO Tropical Island. Especially in autumn with its golden colors, the view from above is worthwhile, because here the typical pine forests are mixed by one or the other deciduous tree. The heather lakes can only be partially seen from the tower. But you can see parts of the Köthener See.

Stones and signs with runes or similar symbol-like signs can be seen on the Streitberg and the paths to it. There is also a stone with a Sator square de.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sator-Quadrat. The way from the south is very sandy. There are well-navigable, so far not marked paths from the north.

The wooden observation tower on the Wehlaberg is 28 meters high and offers a wide view over the Krausnicker Mountains and the heath lakes extending to the north. To the west is the hall of the Tropical Islands. When visibility is good, the Berlin television tower can be seen in the north.

Update 07/28/24: the turnstile is still broken and entry is free. Fantastic panoramic view and an astonishing number of "mountains" in the immediate vicinity. The turnstile at the entrance is currently broken, so you can still save the euro for the climb 😜
