It was probably built in the 12th century and served as a town castle. Today, only the outer walls remain, made of brick, while the foundations are made of boulders and fieldstone. The castle already existed at this time and served as a border fortress. The present-day old town developed under its protection.

Very beautiful tower. From up there you have a wonderful view of the Oderbruch. There is a hiking trail and a path for cyclists up to the tower.
