Lohmen Gorge along the Painters' Way. A wildly romantic spot, a beautiful gorge, and an exciting ascent/descent. Info: The Lohmen Gorge, also known as the Wesenitz Gorge, is a ravine carved by the Wesenitz River. It's a popular destination for hikers who can walk along the river through the valley, passing rock formations and a historic hydroelectric power station. The trails are generally easy to navigate, but depending on the route, some require a good level of fitness and sure-footedness.

Hiking is almost too banal, walking is more accurate here. I hadn't expected this on our second stage on the Lausitzer Schlange.

The Friedrichgrundbach stream flows for about 1.5 km through the Friedrichsgrund, named after Elector Friedrich August III of Saxony. Towards the end of the 18th century, it was built and embellished with a total of 10 bridges, similar to the Seifersdorfer Valley.
