I don't want to create a restaurant guide, but this little forest tavern deserves a mention. Fantastic view and delicious food from the rotisserie grill. Seating is available both inside and outside. Prices and quality are just as good as the friendliness of the owners. Opening hours are Tuesday to Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

At a junction in the middle of the forest there is an imposing stone cross. This place has had cultic significance for ages. The cross stands in the middle of very old linden trees.

About two kilometers northwest of Wehlen rises a 330 meter high mountain cone, the so-called Kreinkopf, whose summit is crowned with an observation tower that towers over the forest and thus offers a magnificent view of the Moselle and Eifel region. Where this mountain top runs into the Wehlen high plateau, the so-called Wehlen Heath, the Wehlen-Siebenborn and Zeltingen-Lieser paths cross. Right at the crossroads stands an old wayside cross made of red sandstone, which has a very strange shape: on a wide, three-edged base stands a column, also three-sided, about 5/1 meter high. This has an almost pointed crown with three, again triangular, image surfaces on which the three divine persons are symbolically depicted. The location is known as Auf Dreifaltigkeit from this strange Trinity Cross. Three old linden trees, also planted in a triangle, shade the statue. It is assumed that Trinity was a pre-Christian place of worship, that is, that the place, probably in the middle of a mighty primeval forest and high up, was a place of pagan worship and a meeting place. However, there is no evidence that a hospital for plague victims was located up there at the time when the Black Death struck our homeland. The age of the cross cannot be determined either, as the year of its construction, which is usually found on field and roadside crosses, is missing. However, it is probably older than most of the old crosses in the Wehlen district, many of which date from the century of the Thirty Years' War. The Trinity Cross used to be the destination of many pious worshippers who made pilgrimages there in times of physical and spiritual distress. Trinity was and still is a popular excursion destination; there are roughly made benches under the broad-crowned linden trees and the wide, grassy road crossing is an ideal playground for children. There was a lot of activity there, especially on the Sunday after Pentecost, the feast of the Most Holy Trinity. Processions from the surrounding parish villages of Zeltingen, Wehlen, Graach and Lieser came from the four winds and prayed at the cross. Then the social side had its say: stalls had been set up where young and old could buy things. An innkeeper had provided food and drink, and the children played in the forest.
