"The Schinderhannesloch is often mentioned in connection with mining on the Lemberg. This tunnel near the Trombacher Hof is part of the extensive tunnel system of the mining area on the Lemberg (Schmittenstollen). The tunnel is only about 600 meters long and was only an experimental tunnel. It is not proven whether Bückler, the Schinderhannes, was actually there. But the fact is that in 1801, after a robbery - and also repeated later - he shared the loot with his accomplices in a tunnel on the Lemberg. After the robbery, the gang fled via Sobernheim to Oberhausen and appeared on the evening of April 12th at Wilhelm Bollenbach's, who, however, expelled them from his farm. Unfortunately, it is used far too often as a toilet and rubbish bin. More respect for the beauties of nature and cultivated behavior would be really desirable (for example, I include a garbage bag that you carry with you in your backpack).
