Where can I find the waterfall?

The Katzenloch waterfall is fed by the Idarbach and Steinbach streams. The water is also dammed at the Idarbach. However, the sawmill that uses the water is no longer powered by hydropower, so the weir gate is wide open and the waterfall is usually well supplied.

A pretty little waterfall right at the start of the tour – nestled between rocks, moss, and forest. It's especially atmospheric in winter. 💡 Tip: It's best to stop right away – the light and the first impression are worth it.

Nice to look at, but refreshing yourself is difficult due to a lack of suitable access.

Very nice path along the stream

The Moselsteig Trail, Kirchspiel's Valley Tour, runs along the Ilsbach stream. The steep gradient and natural streambed create a special atmosphere here, with frequent swirls and tiny waterfalls. A stunningly beautiful stretch of trail, even though the Ilsbach later flows into the Trabener Bach stream, and even later, the Kautenbach flows in from the opposite direction.
