Anyone who goes to Rotenfels also goes to the Bastei. The fortified lookout point was created in the 19th century. A rocky path with a beautiful view of the Parnoaram leads there. From this vantage point, you can look up over the Nahe Valley and across Ebernburg into the North Palatinate mountains. Spectacular view of the steep face of the Rotenfels and Bad Münster am Stein-Ebernburg, located on the western ascent to the Rotenfels near Traisen. According to https://www.rheinhessen.de/a-rotenfels, the Rotenfels (327 m above sea level) is the highest steep face in Germany north of the Alps (202 m).
