In 1873 the Rodenberg Warriors' Association was founded from former veterans of the Franco-Prussian War of 1870/71. Around 1900 club members built this site.

Heinrich Lehmann (born 1869; died 1933 in Bad Nenndorf) worked as a teacher and elementary school teacher and for many years was honorary chairman of the spa and tourist association in Bad Nenndorf. As an author, he primarily wrote several books with descriptions of hikes in the Deister. From 1905 to 1919 he also worked as a choir director in the male choir of 1879.
