The Treene valley stretches over a length of around 50 kilometers and offers a varied landscape of forests, meadows and lakes. Through the joint initiative of the communities of Handewitt and Wanderup, gravel mining has found a successor as the “Seenland-um-Flensburg” local recreation area.
