The Carolinenteich in the Reiherbachtal is a Romanesque place. The pond can be completely circumnavigated and several benches invite you to take a break.

The port is the "heart and center of the city" - the baroque port with lock directly in the historic old town of Bad Karlshafen! In 2019, the historic harbor was reopened for shipping and can be navigated from the Weser via a new lock. This reconnection was funded with 5.5 million euros by the Federal Republic of Germany as a "national urban development project". As a water tourism highlight, the harbor is available for smaller yachts, sports boats and canoes. The Carolinenteich was created in 1971. It had an historical precedent that lay in the hollow behind you. A little below (approx. 100 m to the east) the breached dam of this previous pond can still be seen.
