The tour was very varied despite its manageable length. I can recommend it at any time of year. The last time I was there (October 2024) the hiking trails were in top condition. The grass was mown and most of the wet spots were easy to pass. I have to give a big compliment to the hard-working spirits.

The “Theikenmeer” is a 250 hectare area that has been a nature reserve since 1936. It is located on the Hümmlinger pilgrimage route on the 26.7 km long Sögel – Werlte stage. The nature reserve with the registration number NSG WE 010 includes a raised bog, the Wehmer Dose, with a lake in it. Both are important resting places for migratory water birds.
