These smaller ponds, artificially created in the Middle Ages, were used by the nobles for fish farming. Today they are left to their own devices, are used for recreation and offer a diverse living space.

As in many towns, there is a village pond in Stifterslohe. The pond here has an interesting history and was probably created and used well over 300 years ago. He was among other things used as a carp pond and cattle trough, had even dried up in 1947 in a hot summer. In 1998 the pond was sold to the city of Sulzbach and then renovated.
