The Hubertusquelle was a mineral water spring in the Höllental Valley that once flowed from a crevice on the banks of the Selbitz River. It has since dried up, but its former location is still recognizable by the rust-brown stones near the refuge.

In Christusgrün, there are two great rest areas: one with chilled drinks and a cash register, and this one is a beautiful wooden shelter belonging to the Frankenwaldverein, complete with a guest book and crayons for the children.

Easy to see from the A9, especially when the cross is lit. I've always wanted to go up there. The facility is beautiful. Unfortunately, the transmission mast also has to be there. You can see the Döbraberg very well to the west, recognizable by its sphere from the military position. Towards the (south)east you have the Fichtelgebirge in front of you. The Ochsenkopf with its transmission tower and Schneeberg with its former military tower are particularly easy to recognize.

The Selbitz is a left tributary of the Saxon Saale. In the upper reaches, part of a lively meadow river, it digs its way through the wild and romantic Höllental shortly before the mouth. In all seasons you can hike here wonderfully and admire numerous natural beauties.

An arbor (lat. altus for high) is a balcony supported by columns from the ground will. Not so with our Bohemian neighbors: there it is a pavilion that Park serves as a shelter and vantage point. The two friendly cities Hof and Karlovy Vary built two balconies in 2014: one here and the other, the "Josef Jungmann-Altan" on a 535-meter high lookout hill above the Březová dam on the Teplá River. Josef Jungmann (1773-1847) was a writer and frequented Karlsbad. His five-volume Czech-German dictionary is famous.

Can be worth the proverbial gold in bad weather.
