The 11.5 hectare Rothsee was dammed for recreational purposes and has a lawn for sunbathing. You start at the parking lot on Rothseestrasse. First it goes south and into the forest. After the first kilometer of walking through field corridors, it goes noticeably upwards with forest accompaniment. A nature trail has been laid out near the refuge huts, some of which we explore in a sharp triangle, all the way to the forest area with the pretty name of Bettenfürst. The local recreation area is called "Am Horn". The path has many information boards about the tree species in the region.
