I don't know what the Kipp is like as a bathing lake, I only go here to go fishing or I'm here on foot or by bike. In any case, it is a beautiful piece of nature around the forest lakes.

At the lake there is also a campsite with long-term campers, a restaurant and a parking lot. The history of the reservoir begins as early as 1870, when alum ore and lignite were mined there - and the "Klausenteich" was created in an open-pit mine. Destroyed by a flood in 1935, it was rebuilt by the local innkeeper and expanded in the 1970s to become a cooling water reservoir for the former power plant in Arzberg.
