You will pass Hirmerberg if you follow the "Blue Arrow" from Freudenberg. A small summit cross and a few benches invite you to take a break.

The Eixlberg with the pilgrimage church of St. Barbara, the Loretto Chapel and the Emmausklause is one of the most beautiful places in Pfreimd. The church is ideal for pilgrims and hikers to quietly contemplate for a prayer. The Emmausklause is the ideal place to refresh yourself with a hearty snack and half a beer. On foot or by bike, the Eixlberg is worth a visit at any time of the year. Pay attention to the opening times of the hermitage.

Beautiful observation tower with a great view of the surrounding area up to the Bavarian Forest. To enjoy the view you have to pick up the key for the tower at the Gasthaus zum Kulm, the tower is locked. The key hangs in a small wooden box and is freely accessible on a "basis of trust". Adult donation 50 cents, children 20 cents.

Reinhold Hirmer, carpenter from Amberg, designed and built the summit cross. The Hirmer relatives met here every year for a service, which was organized by the Hirmer missionaries, including Bishop Dr. Oswald Hirmer, was held. Afterwards there was beer, sausages and a lively exchange between the family members 🙂
