The Schnerzhofer pond was bought by the Schöffel family, a textile entrepreneur, and is used for pond farming. The pond is occasionally drained in winter. In summer, you can swim in the pond. There is also a small lawn with a toilet and a bathing jetty on the north bank. Despite the overflow gap being rebuilt in 2008 for half a million euros, the floodwaters washed over the top of the pond in June 2024.

According to a local, the pond is fed by an underground spring. This (always) has a temperature of around 8 degrees Celsius, i.e. the pond never freezes and is refreshing even in summer. The water is always beautifully clear. A very beautiful idyll.

If you are coming from Tussenhausen, just don't drive up the mountain road. It lives up to its name. The further course of the cycle path towards Markt Wald is also not recommended. The terrain is quite rough
