There are only a few moated castles in the wider area and so the small and fine moated castle in Train is a change from the usual castles built on hills and rocks.

A visible remnant of a fortification on the Kirchberg in Marching is, in addition to parts of the cemetery wall and the moat, the Feiglturm, which is popularly known as the Feiglturm. The truncated tower and the south side of the cemetery wall date from the second half of the 13th century at the earliest, while the ashlar stones, a remnant of an earlier building or structure, were only used until about 1250. The crickets With the "Crickets of Marching" a local noble family appears for the first time, which goes well with the presumed castle building at the end of the 13th century. In connection with real estate transactions, documents from 1313 and 1314 name Ulrich den Grillen von Märching, his wife Diemut, his brother Otto and both sisters Anna, who owned the "Veste and Burg zu Märching together with a number of goods there". The crickets seem to have been vassals of the duke, since in one of the documents mentioned "the castle and the house" are converted into a fief by Duke Rudolf. Ulrich the Grill was Duke Ludwig's chamberlain and witnessed his last will in 1294, while Otto sat "at the right to Neustadt" in 1330. He died in 1339 and the Feste Marching came to Wimmer through inheritance. 📜Source: www.neustadt-donau.de

Offenstetten Castle is a three-storey, four-wing building with three-quarter round corner towers with onion domes. The moated castle was owned by the Lords of Offenstetten for more than 400 years. These first appeared in documents in the 11th century in connection with donations from Aribo, Lord of "Ouanstetten", to the Weltenburg Monastery. The "Cabrini House" as it is called today is still located in the castle, it looks after children and young people with special educational needs.
