The landscape park is elaborately and lovingly designed. There is something for all ages to experience here: from a sandpit and playground for the little ones to a football pitch and skate park to a sunbathing area, boules pitch and fitness equipment, everything is there to have a good time. I found the nutrias particularly funny – not to be confused with muskrats.

The old slider house is a technical monument on the shore of Lake Hertha. The lake was built in 1846 to supply water to the Holzappel pit near Dörnberg-Hütte. Today there is a small park and a swimming pool on the shore.

There used to be a nice rainwater retention basin here. When the ICE express route Frankfurt / Cologne was built, it was unfortunately drained and decommissioned. Supposedly because there was no authorization for it. Unfortunately, a beautiful habitat for many animals was destroyed. But it is still a nice place to linger.

Here I was once without a bike, but with the family. Beautiful lake with hiking trails all around. There is a small playground for children - we spent some time here with our son. In the summer it was nice to be able to just put your feet in the cool water.
