The lake is a reservoir and is flowed through by the Tiefenbach, which flows into the Mühlbach and finally into the Neckar. The shore of the lake is lined with trees and bushes, which gives it an idyllic atmosphere.

The path leads directly along the Mühltalsee and then along a beautiful stream. The possibility of starting directly from the car park makes the path particularly interesting for a family outing.

The small Fischersee, also called Mühltalsee, on the Zimmerhof side of the Fünfmühlental is a species-rich biotope. In summer, many dragonflies frolic on the banks and it is said to be a breeding ground for kingfishers.

The Römersee is located south-east of Siegelsbach in the flat valley of the Tiefenbach. This flows through the Römersee, just before it flows into the Mühlbach. Most parts of the lake shore are covered with trees and bushes. Part of the Zimmerhof golf course stretches north of the lake.
