The ponds at Felsbeerg were created as a result of the gravel quarrying that took place here until the 1970s. In relation to the riparian vegetation, the ponds have meanwhile developed into near-natural bodies of water. They are leased to fishing clubs. At times, weed growth, typical for gravel ponds of this age, occurs in the ponds, which offers good protection for the fry, but places certain demands on the angler.
