Excellent place to take a break or as shelter in bad weather 👍🏻

On June 17th, 2024, we asked a woman and her dog for directions. We wanted to know if you could cross the bridge on the Wischhafener Süderelbe by bike. But she didn't know her way around. She was probably on vacation in Krautsand. As we continued our journey, a couple came towards us on their bikes and told us that the bridge was closed. We then rode back with them. The woman with the dog on a leash was still standing on the path and we rode past her. Last of all, my wife. The dog snapped and bit my right calf. A relatively small wound became infected and we drove to the hospital in Flensburg on June 20th, 2024, where we were treated. We were advised not to continue our journey by bike. We therefore had to end our cycling trip. Perhaps someone can provide information about the dog owner or has met her. Middle-aged woman, 45 to 50 years old, long dark hair. Dog shoulder height approx. 50 cm, long, mottled black, brown, beige hair.

IF YOU CAN'T PET ANYMORE, YOU CAN SIT HERE. That is the Low German motto of this beautiful hut at the Neuendorfer Kuhle. But of course hikers can also take a break here and this hut is also ideal as a meeting point for a little chat. So we now have 2 rest huts in Neuendorf.

JOJO, LOTTI and ANNI are the names of the tree houses and stilt houses. Set in the middle of old, gnarled willows, each has its own special features.

The hut was open - definitely a nice alternative to bad weather or if you want to sit and watch. Otherwise you can see just as well or better from the shore in front of the door. There was little to see in January. ;-)

These are relatively close to Elbdamm. They are probably huts that can be rented. Definitely looks great :)

In May the door was open. Hut is OK. Unfortunately there wasn't much to see in May. But that's not the fault of the hut 😄

Perfect for a break! A gigantic shelter almost like an outdoor camp, which offers perfect weather protection inside. Inside there are a few information boards and newspaper clippings. If you sit down at the tables in peace, you can certainly observe game from time to time in the clearing. There is a sandy surface in the hut and since many a child is probably dancing on the tables... 🤨 there is a hand brush ready to sweep the bench and table beforehand. The refuge is not signposted from the path and can hardly be seen (at least if you go via the E1).
