The old shelter on the Limes Trail burned down in 1993. The current shelter was erected in 1999 by the Schiffenberg Local History Society, as indicated by a sign on the back of the shelter.

A quiet pavilion with seating all around. The slope descends slightly to the west, where a footpath leads to the forest kindergarten. Unfortunately, it has since been destroyed by an old beech tree. Plans are in place to rebuild it.
