On the summit is a historic station of the royal-Saxon triangulation. In honor and remembrance, a stone has been set up there. With views to Kuhberg and Voigtland and the castle Schönfels
The Hirschenstein is the highest point in the Zwickau district. When the weather is nice, there is a very good view and a good resting place at all times.
At 561 meters, it's one of the smaller mountains in the Hartmannsdorf Forest and is easily climbable. Since there's no official path leading there, sturdy footwear is recommended.
