Spacious and beautiful rest area

Great rest area in the form of a beautiful wooden hut.

In 1886, the Limbach Erzgebirge branch association built a lookout tower on the mostly forested mountain, which was called the Maria-Josepha Tower and had to be demolished in 1953 because it was in disrepair. A massive radio tower was later built in its place, which still exists on the mountaintop today. Almost a hundred meters east of it, a new, 30 m high observation tower was built in 1998 based on the model of the old tower. It can be climbed free of charge and, when the weather is nice, offers a comprehensive view of the Erzgebirge and its foothills.

A great day trip destination. From the observation tower, you have a fantastic view of Chemnitz. There's also a cave to explore. And the snack bar is worth stopping by, at least for a drink. However, given the opening hours, you might think they don't need to make money.

Well-kept rest area located directly on the old Grünaer Straße. Clean and groomed.

Nice little cabin, during a little walk

This is a wonderful destination for a cycling trip. The beer tastes delicious and the food is very good.

Ideal for a rest. In winter the children go tobogganing there. Idyllic perspective ♥️
