Highlight already exists as a section... Wonderful valley with a small road that stretches for almost 12km between Arnstadt and Crawinkel. There is a bit more traffic in the afternoon, but it's still bearable. Asphalt is great!

A time trial has been held here every year since 2023, the "Jonastaler Challenge". Highly recommended...It's really fun to ride along there. If you're unlucky, the wind whistles through the valley. I love this route! 🚴🏻‍♀️✌🏼

Not to be expected from the valley. Still a little insider tip

The Freibach valley near Stutzerbach. For me one of the most beautiful mountain valleys in the Thuringian Forest. Wide meadow landscape with typical vegetation in the lower part of the valley, changes to a wild and romantic gorge in the upper section. I didn't visit it today, but enjoyed the first signs of winter. On the left and right, ascents to the surrounding mountain ridges with beautiful views are worthwhile. And the tours can be of different lengths. If you include the neighboring Taubachtal, the result is circular routes between 3 and 15 kilometers. Or you can cross the valley, for example by climbing the old Salzmannstraße, which leads to the Schmücke or Mönchshof as the next stations.
