A really impressive gorge. My highlight of the tour. Here you feel like you are in the jungle - with the corresponding mosquitoes, but you are happy to put up with that. Highly recommended! 😊 You can also hike in the gorge and cross it 😊

Highlight already exists as a section... Wonderful valley with a small road that stretches for almost 12km between Arnstadt and Crawinkel. There is a bit more traffic in the afternoon, but it's still bearable. Asphalt is great!

A time trial has been held here every year since 2023, the "Jonastaler Challenge". Highly recommended...It's really fun to ride along there. If you're unlucky, the wind whistles through the valley. I love this route! 🚴🏻‍♀️✌🏼

There is a lot of history in this canyon about the people who live there as well as geological history. Traces above the canyon indicate that a castle stood there (stone stairway/stone wall). Underneath there is apparently a rampart. The stones for the castle were probably mined in the canyon itself. Traces of processing can still be seen on the rock walls and surrounding rocks. It's also a mystical place.

Through the forest in search of the shell limestone formation - the Jungfernsprung. According to legend, a maiden fled from a greedy knight and threw herself into the gorge. While the knight jumped after him with his horse and smashed it miserably, the damsel was able to fly down into the valley thanks to her bulbous robe.
