The Rennweg runs through the Franconian regions of Bamberg, Hassberge, Schweinfurt and Rhön-Grabfeld. Because of its special nature experience and its history, it is one of the most interesting hiking trails in the Hassberge Nature Park. Historically documented as a messenger and courier route, the Rennweg always runs along the crests of the Haßberge and avoids the slopes and lowlands. The Dornbusch car parks are popular as a starting point for hiking or cycling. The refuge and the parking spaces are located directly on the Rennweg.
