There is no recognizable path to the grotto. As everything is overgrown with blackberry bushes in summer, it is better to visit outside of the growing season. Be careful: there is a short, very steep section to overcome, as well as fallen trees/broken branches.

The Michelbach flows through the wonderful Michelbach valley to dammed fish ponds. The fish ponds are fenced and reserved for anglers only. On the right side a narrow natural path leads past rock formations with a view of the ponds from above. The left way back is unspectacular car access to the fishing ponds and later forest road. The Michelbach lies in the middle of a wide floodplain.
