Botanically and historically charming side valley of the Lahn. A very calm and varied valley with many plants. The Ansbach forms the natural border between Runkel and Villmar. A great floodplain landscape with lateral source inflows, which partially wet the path heavily.

There are currently some new trees on the paths and it's called under, over or around. Therefore, sturdy shoes are a must. This makes the valley even more enchanting. Definitely a nice hiking route and highly recommended

A lovely shady path, if the sky hasn't poured down litres of rain the day before. In some places today it was a "mud fight" and the ruts left by logging vehicles made this worse.
