Refuge near a quarry. Very well-kept hut, currently decorated for Christmas. In the hut there are pictures of children and a large display board of native songbirds. A frame is set up next to the refuge, in the tub there is sand and five sculptures of animal paws and hooves. You can then push them into the sand and guess which animal they are from. The solution is attached to the back of the frame.

At the Iphofen historical vineyard you can experience the history of winemaking live. Three vineyard terraces show what winegrowing looked like in the Middle Ages, around 1800 and 1960. Many animal and plant species, some of which have become rare, find good living conditions here. The short, steep climb to the vineyard house rewards you with a wonderful view of Iphofen and the surrounding wine country. Interesting facts: The area is open and free of charge at all times. The historical vineyard can be reached on foot from Iphofen's market square in about 45 minutes. The Iphofen mountain winegrowers lovingly tend the historical vineyard by hand - the wine can be purchased at the Iphofen Tourist Information. The Schorsch-Eckhoff-Hütte is a beautiful refuge in itself. Here you have a wonderful view of Lower Franconia when the weather is clear. However, I was amazed that there was so much rubbish in and around the hut.
