The newly created scenic lake between the village of Seinsheim and the vineyards of the "Seinsheimer Hohenbühl" appellation offers an oasis for rest and relaxation. Parts of the Tree Horoscope Trail also encircle the lake. Swimming is not permitted, but relaxation is allowed. There is a playground for children and a volleyball court for adults.

The Iff stream's short course was once lined with 22 mills. 18 of them still stand today – the Mill Trail runs alongside them. Some of them have been lovingly restored.

I think the quarry is very worth seeing. A small lake sits picturesquely in the middle and is a real feast for the eyes. I wouldn't swim here, though...that's not what the small lake is intended for. 🤣 The quarry has become a habitat for many animals, such as toads, frogs, dragonflies, slowworms, lizards, butterflies, and much more.

Apparently someone has intervened to regulate the beaver structure? As of September 2024, everything seems very tidy.

It is impressive how the water is pressed out of the ground - unfortunately everything there is very neglected

I found the frozen lake fascinating. Here you can clearly see where water flows in from the higher elevations on the sides.

The three springs of the Iff, the so-called pigeon holes, are just a few steps away from the Taubenlochhütte, a hedge farm that is managed seasonally.
