The barn district in the Schlüsselburg district of Petershagen still comprises 26 barns that are built together in a very small space. The “Green Hunter” is a small half-timbered house in the Großes Holz state forest in Darlaten. It dates from 1795 and was the home of the state forest's lumberjacks until around 1920. It was then lived in by the Neidler couple until 1977. In 1975, targeted attempts to preserve the "Green Hunter" began in Darlaten. In order to save the building from decay and demolition, the Altes Amt Uchte tourist association took it into its care in 1977. The only historical building in Darlaten was no longer there to save.
