Lake Erlach is currently the last refuge for amphibians in the Oberwald. The previously declining amphibian population was counteracted by the targeted design of the water body. Here they find a habitat that the floodplain landscape of the Rhine had offered them since time immemorial, before human cultivation destroyed it.

Great hiking lodge, very friendly staff, delicious food. You can also bring dogs. Recommended for a stop in the area.
