Nethestausee The Nethestausee, which belongs to the town of Neuenheerse, is a 4.5 hectare recreational lake in the heart of the Teutoburg Forest / Egge Mountains Nature Park. The swimming lake has been used as a leisure park since 1975. On the lakeshore there are playgrounds, a small covered barbecue hut and extensive lawns for sunbathing, which are regularly maintained in summer. The lake is surrounded by picturesque forests that invite you to take walks and hikes around the lake. The Nethestausee or “Neuenheerser See” was created by damming the Nethe river, which rises in Bad Driburg – Neuenheerse. https://www.naturpark-teutoburgerwald.de/attraction/nethestausee/ This hut is located directly on the netheradweg, easy to reach.

The "Driburger EGV Hut," 410 m above sea level, is located directly on the Eggeweg X/E1 (part of the European Long-Distance Hiking Trail E1), approximately 1.5 km west of the Iburg mountain. It is the club hut of the Bad Driburg Local History Society, a division of the Eggegebirge Association, and was built in 1972. The main room accommodates approximately 50 people, with two additional adjoining rooms accommodating up to a further 20. A sheltered, covered "summer structure" accommodates an additional 80 people. Ample parking is available. The Driburger EGV Hut is designated as rescue point no. 9 in the regional rescue system.
