However, all the empty spaces along the road exude a very morbid feeling, while the lack of traffic reinforces the loneliness. I wonder what life is like for the remaining residents here? I sometimes get a chill here.

The entire Holzbachtal is an idyll! Between the L565 and the junction towards Neusatz, you think you've zapped 50-60 years into the past. One or the other little house along the way or one or the other business from that time has survived, sometimes a bit scruffy. But with charm. Very romantic in terms of landscape. It's really worth not rushing through so quickly, whether coming from above or below. Look a little more to the right and left and perceive details.
