Blankenberg Castle stood on a hill bordering on Neufelden station today. There the Bairachbach (formerly Bayrabach) flows into the Große Mühl. Unfortunately, the castle ruins are privately owned and not accessible.

Except for a hill which "supposedly" is supposed to remind of the castle, nothing is left...

Unfortunately, you can hardly see anything of the castle ...

Access is blocked and derelict/overgrown - only a view from afar is possible

Pürnstein Castle in Neufelden in the Bohemian Forest holiday region. Pürnstein Castle has towered over the valley of the Große Mühl since the late 10th century. The Birchenstainers gave both her and the settlement their name. But they were just one of many families that have ruled the castle over the centuries. Pürnstein has a lot to tell. From here you can see up to the remains of the ruins of the Schallenberg castle... unfortunately you can't see anything, you can only guess. In fact, all that is left of the ruins is a "pile of stones".
