Nice place to jump into the water, well paved, but very narrow in places. Drive carefully!

At the end of the 19th century, the regulation of the Danube and the Franz-Josefs-Bahn made Kritzendorf a destination for excursions and a summer resort for many Viennese. Kritzendorf became known in the interwar period for the Strombad. The original Badeschiff had become a Viennese weekend colony with over 600 "stilt houses". With the "Anschluss" three quarters of the tenants were given notice because of Jewish origin or political deviation and the intellectual-cultural society was thus expelled, which even a "re-Aryanization"[5] after the end of the war could not change much.

The toad pond used to be clear water until it became more and more covered with duckweed. For a number of years attempts have been made to pump oxygen into the pond using a floating platform. Was unsuccessful. An interesting and valuable biotope.
