The Donnerschlucht Gorge is currently closed, and you have to walk along the road instead. It's better to plan a completely different route.

The Tiebelbach is a river in Carinthia and the main tributary of Lake Ossiach near Steindorf. It rises in the municipality of Himmelberg, is additionally fed by underground water from the Gurk River, and flows southeast through the Tiebel Valley to Feldkirchen. There, it turns southwest and flows through the Bleistätter Moor, which has been partially reflooded to improve the water quality of Lake Ossiach and create a natural recreation area. The hike is worthwhile at any time of year and is not particularly demanding! However, it can be challenging around the springs on icy conditions! 😉

Especially after rainy days, a beautiful little waterfall appears here, surrounded by lush greenery. The water flows over stone steps.

Currently (August 2024) the Donnerschlucht is closed. The rain has washed away the stream banks.

Yes, it's only very short and not even that's crisp! The "trail" is generally very short and it's actually not worth driving it because the path is very popular with hikers and walkers and the risk of crashing into a person who is walking is correspondingly high. Don't pay to drive the waterfall trail because if you bump into someone, two lives are likely to be ruined...namely the hiker's who will be badly injured and your own; because you will probably also get an injury and you will have to pay for the hiker's injuries for the rest of your life...but the path is a lot more inviting on foot than on a bike anyway.
