These huts were once built by lumberjacks the day they arrived at the logging site. They weren't designed to last, but had to be erected quickly. The lumberjacks stayed in the forest the entire time, as a daily trek would have taken too much time and energy. They slept and cooked there. It must have fallen into disrepair by the 1830s. The mountain can be reached from all sides on numerous forest roads, through the valleys as well as along the ridges.
