Where the nobility once ruled, the focus today is on wood products. Near the confluence of the Black and White Sulm rivers, close to the Dietmannsdorf train station, lies Welsberg Castle, originally a medieval fortified structure. Today privately owned, only a small portion of the property is occupied. Currently, there are plans for possible uses, such as a café, restaurant, seminar rooms, etc.

The Renaissance-style castle was first mentioned in 1280. Today it houses the agricultural home economics school and the castle is used for events.

Small but nice castle with a well-kept castle garden. This is also open to the public. Right next door is the Hartlieb oil mill, with a house shop and a small museum.

The baroque Ottersbach Castle is located near Großklein in southern Styria. With its extensive park, it forms a wonderful backdrop for visits, celebrations and looking back at history. Today as then, weddings, parties and celebrations can be held at this unique venue.
