The start of the via ferrata can be reached from Holzgau in about half an hour. It is divided into three routes of varying difficulty levels, which can be easily combined with one another: the chamois (B/C), the ibex (C+) and the eagle route (D/E). A highlight is certainly the crossing of the roaring Simms waterfall using a total of three rope bridges. A via ferrata experience that is absolutely recommended!👌

What this highlight means is the Simms Waterfall. It can be reached through the right side of the valley via a good gravel path towards Rossgumpenalm/Café Uta, so you can observe the waterfall from close up. It was created artificially in the 19th century by the Englishman Frederic Simms through blasting. The waterfall is about 30 m high and is fed by the Höhenbach. There are many hikers on the route, most of whom want to go to the Holzgau suspension bridge.

The waterfall in the lower part of the Faltbachtobel is particularly impressive at the moment.

A nice place for climbers.

It was blocked in May(end). The path is open during summer. There are many waterfalls on the way up.

Depending on the weather, the short walk through the gorge to the waterfall can be very slippery.

*Well, with children this path might not be the best descent into the valley!* The landscape of this path is really beautiful. On the narrow path you walk down when the weir, this way still works. - BUT, after that it gets harder! Lots of rubble, mud and a lot of tripping hazards. - THEREFORE: Sturdy shoes are mandatory after the weir at the latest, because it goes along the Faltbach over extremely slippery ground, down steep gorges into the valley. Despite the difficult descent, we were able to collect incredible great impressions in many places <3

Sturdy shoes and sure-footedness are required here. But it's worth it for the beautiful waterfall!
