The cycle and pedestrian path runs right along the water, and you have a breathtaking view of the sea almost the entire time. What's particularly nice is that the route is well developed - the cycle path is wide and offers enough space to cycle in a relaxed manner without having to worry about car traffic. If you want to switch off from everyday stress for a bit, this is the perfect place. Along the way, there are benches and quiet places under shady trees that invite you to stop for a moment and enjoy the view. The sun sparkles on the water, and the gentle breeze from the sea provides a pleasant refreshment during the ride. Although the route is rather flat, there is enough variety in the surrounding nature - sometimes you cycle through pine groves, sometimes along the open shore. A great opportunity to take a relaxed coastal tour and just enjoy the moment. Ideal for a leisurely day on the bike!

A beautiful gravel road runs along the dam. Coming from the village of Avdou, you can drive to the dam. After the first gate, you have to turn right into the olive groves, otherwise you will find yourself in front of locked gates. It's best to just plan in Komoot and I can't say for sure whether the road will be passable BEFORE October. You'd better find out more here.

Lake Voulismeni is surrounded by a promenade with taverns and bars. The former freshwater lake was connected to the seaport by a canal in 1870.

It's rather depressing here. The surroundings are really beautiful with paths through the olive groves, but the reservoir really has nothing attractive about it, and the abandoned ruins are probably not even suitable as a lost place. It's better to head for other destinations in the area.

As part of the Natura 2000 protection program, Lake Korission is the largest protected area on the island of Corfu.

In the nature reserve around Lake Korission, which covers a total of around 6,000 hectares, there is a dune landscape, some of which are higher than 15 meters, with the corresponding settlement, as well as a cedar forest. Other notable plants in the nature reserve include reed beds, tamarisks, white lilies and 14 different orchid species. The area is a magnet for various species of butterflies and birds, such as cormorants, great egrets, flamingos, wigeons and other species of ducks.
