The Weitmoserschlössl (sometimes also called Hundsdorf Castle due to its location) is located on the edge of the Hundsdorf district in the municipality of Bad Hofgastein (Schlossgasse 14, cadastral municipality of Vorderschneeberg) in the district of St. Johann im Pongau in the state of Salzburg. Schernberg Castle is a former castle building on a hill above Schwarzach im Pongau. The castle was mentioned in a document as early as 1193. Today, Schernberg Castle is a St. Vinzenz home for people with disabilities. The disabled people of this nursing home were also the impetus for the volume of poetry "The Irren - The Prisoners" by Thomas Bernhard, who often walked past the castle during a healing stay. During the Nazi era, masses of men and women were taken away to be murdered.
