The castle is located not far from Altenmarkt im Pongau at the entrance to the Flachau Valley, at about 975 m

The castle has been owned by the municipality of Flachau since the end of 1999 and is used for cultural events. A guided tour of the Renaissance castle would certainly be interesting (Fridays).

Not a nice bike path, but great location of the fortress.

Unfortunately we didn't have time to visit, but the castle is in a fantastic location.

Located slightly above the valley, the well-preserved Renaissance castle offers a beautiful view over Reitdorf, Flachau and the Ennstal.

Really a great fortress. There is also a birds of prey show at the top. You can take the elevator up or walk about 20 minutes. The restaurant prices are awesome. You have to go through it or take care of yourself.

09/12/2022 - First of all, we had excellent weather 😎. We have already booked the tickets online, without any problems 😎. The footpath and guided tour were booked. Nice, comfortable climb that you can enjoy in nature, a tree/wood information trail is also installed here. The tour was great, we had enough time to take a close look at everything. Then we went to the falconry demonstration, impressive, you shouldn't miss it, everything was explained well here too. There is also a nice castle game for the children. We were here for about 4 hours but you need a little more if you want to see everything in detail - e.g. the two special must-visit exhibits...and the falconry exhibit as well.
